The Tokata Learning Center’s (TLC) mission is to facilitate high-quality learning within a school community where…stories matter, vulnerability is invited, barriers are challenged, strengths are discovered and students are celebrated.

The TLC, which is located in the Town Square Mall next to the District Office and Welcome Center, recognizes that the journey to a high school diploma for many students is not a straight path. With the support of a well-trained staff, in a small, welcoming learning environment rich with self-directed learning options, TLC programming is designed to empower students to become independent, respectful and responsible learners on their journey towards graduation.

Class of 2027 Graduation
Shakopee High School’s Class of 2027 graduation ceremony will be held Thursday, June 3, 2027, at 6 p.m. at Mystic Lake Amphitheater.

2026 School Board Election
For the November 3, 2026 General Election, four (4) School Board seats are open and will be on the ballot.

Emerald Ash Tree Removal
Shakopee Public Schools has been significantly impacted by the emerald ash borer. We have treated as many ash trees as possible that have a reasonable chance of surviving. Unfortunately, the remaining affected trees will need to be removed.
Tree removal is scheduled to begin the week of August 17, with stump grinding to follow shortly afterward.

Parking Permits, 2026-27 School Year
Shakopee High School (SHS) students must have a valid parking permit to park their vehicle on campus during the school day. To apply for a parking permit at SHS, the student must have a valid driver’s license, complete and submit an online parking application and pay the required permit fee.
